Misa taught herself how to crochet in May 2014 from two Let’s Get Crafting Knitting & Crochet magazines, one open on the pattern and the other at the how-to section. The resulting soft toy was a little wonky, but Misa loved the process and immediately embarked on a small sampler. She then moved on to Cherry Heart’s Spice of Life blanket, after which she was well and truly addicted.

Over the past three years, Misa has made blankets, cushions, and baby clothes. Her first idea for a self-designed project was, rather unsurprisingly given her geeky roots, based on Doctor Who; being a shawl based on the Fifth Doctor’s cricket jumper. Misa’s inspiration for crochet designs can come from pretty much anywhere and covers makes both big and small.

Misa lives with her husband, two teens, two adult children, a grandchild, and two daft dogs. When she’s not crocheting, she indulges her imagination in writing science fiction romance stories.
